Youth Development and Mentoring

The Missouri Mentoring Program ( MMP) offers two excellent programs for teens in our area:

The Young Parents Program (YP) offers pregnant and parenting youth a support system as they progress through the challenging time of pregnancy and the first years of child rearing. Matched with a trained community mentor, youth are encouraged to achieve educational and career goals and to raise a healthy family.

The Youth Employment Skills program (YES) serves selected at-risk youth who are given an opportunity to succeed in the work place. Job Readiness Training offers practical job related information, participating employers offer jobs and training, and work place mentors give support and encouragement. Youth are encouraged to continue their education and seek healthy lifestyles toward an ultimate goal of self-sufficiency.
